The Girl with the Green Ring, Mad Dreams

Two more inception drabbles - one for [livejournal.com profile] inception100, and another that arose from it but isn't currently postable to the community. Open to better title suggestions for the second.

Warnings on the first for questionable consent, sexual violence, and mind-fuckery.... all that in 100 words :V

The Girl wth the Green Ring

He knows her – The Girl with the Green Ring. She haunts his dreams, and he doesn’t know why. But he knows her, in any guise: always the green ring – surely her totem.

She’s a brunette tonight: long dark curls spill across her back as he enters her from behind, his hands reaching for her throat.

“What do you want?” He demands. She answers with a laugh, and he tightens his grip, swearing. “Fuck you!” He calls as she slips from his fingers, fading like smoke and leaving him naked, alone, and frustrated.

He wakes the same way, questioning his mind.

Mad Dreams

There is more than one way to destroy an enemy.

Despite the team’s vows, the story slowly spreads as the survivors turn to each other first and then more removed confidants, or unburden themselves over alcohol or to some faceless fuck…

Inception is real.

It takes longer for the idea to catch hold, to drift away from those who understand the risks, for the story to become corrupted as it passes from teller to teller.

Inception can drive someone mad.

And then, Eames is right. Depth doesn’t matter. What can one do when it is no longer safe to dream?

Mad Dreams - Wow this is so intense, I love this line:

Inception can drive someone mad.

That is so true and is a dark concept that is never really explored in the film except slightly through what happened to Mal.

Thanks :D

As I'm sure I said, its exploring all the little suggestions that came out of the film that I really love, and there's just sooooo much to play with! Drabbles are great too - I already loved the form, but they are great for teasing these things out, and examining ideas without getting bogged down.

Oh yes - And I think it is suggested through what happens to Cobb as well!
