Unlikely Haven
A short drabble in response to Bart's request for the latest writing meme. One of Hadyn's first experiences on Keth. A proper drabble - 10 words even. woot!
Unlikely Haven
Hadyn had never seen a human city this way. He’d been in plenty, but he’d never entered nor left via an official gate. Exia spread out before him, a parasite jutting out from the mountains and spilling into the river valley like a plague. Thousands of people lived there.
He pulled the stolen cloak closer. He was hungry again, but knew better than to expect charity from fellow travelers. Keth’s towns had proven little better. He was too different, though he tried to hide it now. Exia held the promise of a terrifying anonymity, but where else could he go?
