Drabble #10 - RobDC

xypharan asked me for something to take place in his superhero universe. We call it 'DC', which is funny, because it has nothing to do with DC except for some borrowed Vertigo elements. The rules system is technically called Blood of Heroes these days. I think the name just proves that gamers are a stubborn breed and slow to change ;) I tried out various scenes in my mind using pre-existing characters, but none of them pleased me. So I decided to do this instead, which is related a new breed of mutant/superheroes that have appeared relatively recently. Its alternate title is "Chalk One Up for the Allfather..."

One More to the Dance

She didn't understand, or care. The sense of freedom was overwhelming. A man –human, and weak – lay sobbing on the ground in front of her, begging. He reached a hand towards her. He dared!

"Lynn, no! It doesn't have to be this way!"

He knew nothing. She spit at him, and he screamed as the flames caught his hair.

She willed into silence the small part of her mind that protested. Such humanity was beneath her.

She could sense her kind. They were out there, and she would find them. She spread her golden wings and took to the sky.

I think the only fitting way to respond to this drabble is to make it officially part of my continuity.
