Jukebox! Finally!

Jukebox this year for me was kind of nutty, as it was happening right when I was moving1 Both reveals and author reveals happened when I was still very much in transitional parts of moving /o\

This year was also the first year that both art and podfic options were available as well as fic, and I decided to be brave and offer podfic. I figured that if nothing else, in an exchange like this I could just write one of the song requests! And of course, that's what I matched on... A fic co-written by my recip, co-written with someone with a blanket permission policy. It was a lot of fun! While I have done a fair amount of recording before for ficthropology, I'd never really dived into the sound editing aspect, and I learned quite a lot! My recip was super thrilled with it, so I'm counting it as a big win!

The fic I *received* was for Tulip by Jesca Hoop, which is really one of my favourite fairly recent song discoveries, off the True Detective Season 1 soundtrack. I've always seen the song as quite sinister, but my writer, Lexigent, gave me an interesting take with a much more cooperative relationship between the narrator and the true love:

I tried to read/view/play with as much as I could when the exchange opened, but I didn't make nearly as big a dent as I'd wanted to, and I haven't been even able to think about looking at any longer pieces :( I still intend to try though! Of the pieces that I have read, though, I have found a few real gems! Here are a few - I'm sure there are others I've yet to discover as well.
