Originally I thought she meant for me to specifically wrote a drabble about her. But no, he just wanted one done *for* her, with whatever I wanted. But I decided to draw inspiration from her, and all my brave friends who dedicate themselves to the education of the unappreciative younger generations ;)
The Queen
After the fall, survivors banded together in city states and small kingdoms to try to recreate their ideal societies. The Queen had proven a wise and benevolent ruler, ably balancing affairs of state and negations with belligerent neighboring kingdoms. The people never regretted her election. They willingly overlooked her indulgences, and her string of clandestine romances. They loved her. And they also feared the Look. She could turn the toughest man to a sheepish apologetic boy with a glance.
"How does she do that?" People often asked, always receiving the same answer:
"I hear she used to teach middle school…."
