Weird at last! Thank you for offering something that I have requested - I hope I have given you some helpful ideas to work with, but please, write the story that interests you! In terms of general likes and so on, I am pretty easy to please. I don't have any serious squicks or triggers. I like things that are creepy, and dark, and funny, and fluffy. I like character driven stories and plotty fic, and introspection and worldbuilding. Not necessarily in combination! I like smut, but I like there to be something to go along with it - smut that is part of the plot, or gives some kind of insight into the characters. I don't need a happy ending, but I do welcome them. Write me something you are comfortable with, even if it isn't exactly what I've got in my optional details, and I will probably love it.
Night Vale often feels to me like something that could have been lifted directly out of my brain, so creepyness/weirdness in line with that the show dishes out is lovely. One of the things I love about Night Vale is that so much of the darkness is right out there in the open, rendered almost mundane by how relatively common it all becomes. Despite this, there are still secret and real conspiracies going on behind the scenes. People take so much for granted that they - at least most residents - have stopped questioning the weirdness. "Some mysteries aren’t questions to be answered, but just a kind of opaque fact, a thing which exists to be not known." I love that dynamic, and of course I am desperately curious to know more about the characters and scenarios I have requested. I'll repeat them here for convenience:
Original Sheriff's Secret Police Officer(s), Fanfiction
I would dearly love some kind of 'day in the life' type fic of some SSPO doing their thing. Feel free to include characters from the show, or use other OC Night Valians. While I am totally down with random bitching about the job (the angels always talk too quietly, Steve Carlsberg never remembers to leave his blinds up and monitoring duty at the abandoned mineshaft is soo dull, and its always a fight to get assigned helicopter duty, whatever), feel free to run with any other ideas that might strike you. Does the SSP get caught up in behind the scenes power struggles between the City Council and the Hooded Figures? Are they 'in' on any of the other conspiracies of the town? Are they specifically not? Do they have behind-the-scenes turf wars with the agents of a shadowy yet menacing government organization? Have fun with it! I'm down with anything from serious to fluff to utter crack.
Cecil (Welcome to Night Vale), Old Woman Josie; Fanfiction
I would love some kind of story where they are just chatting casually. Running into each other at the store, Josie invites Cecil over for tea and to see what the angels have done with her bloodstone circle, gossiping at the wheat and wheat-by-product speakeasy about the weirdness du jour, whatever. If you want to have them gossiping about Cecil's love life, I am totally down with that as well. I admit I love the idea that Old Woman Josie is a dirty old lady who is forever pestering Cecil for details and trying to subtly give him ideas so she can vicariously perv on Carlos. If that is not how you see her, that is totally okay - I really just want to see them interacting and being chummy :)
Trish Hidge, Pamela Winchell; Fanart, Fanfiction
I would love to see something about the working relationship between these two ladies. Is it good? Great? Awful? Is Trish overly ambitious? Does she get to/have to be the mayor's handler? What does she think about the Mayor stepping down? Is Mayor Winchell leaving a trail of secret messages for her favourite aide? How exactly do they share powers? Do they go for margaritas on Fridays? Are they lovers? What did Trish have to do to get her job? Do they have some kind of childhood pact/rivalry/blood feud? What happens when Mayor Winchell gets a delivery of unexpected ~feelings~? How do they work together to manage a new crisis? Really whatever you wanna do with this!
If you wanna do art, really knock yourself out. I don't have any super strong headcanons about the two of them, appearance wise, and would love to see any kind of interpretation :D

Although joining the scouts is not voluntary in Night Vale, did they have a choice about advancing through the ranks? Did they get along? Were they rivals? Did they know what they were getting into?
