This is a bit late, but hey, it is still Sunday night. It is also a bit short, but I didn't get to start writing until nearly one. I didn't get to do what I was hoping to since I didn't have as much time to write as I'd hoped. This is filler, but I hope that it won't be too disappointing.

Tenth installment - a minor milestone. My word count tells me that I am averaging around 1350 words each time, although in reality there is quite a range. This installment falls a little short of that, but the last section was quite long, so I hope you will forgive me. I am pleased that I have managed to keep this up for six weeks running this time, which is a little longer than I managed when I first started back in early 2005. I hope I can keep it up, although I have decided that I will try and bring this to some kind of conclusion by the end of the year, so that I can try working with something that is more entirely original.

This is an ongoing serial story I started, and then abandoned last year. I picked it up again just after Christmas, I believe. I have been posting them in my main journal, but I think I will copy them over here. The versions I have on my hard drive of the various sections have seen more revisions, for certain. I'll start posting them over the course of the week. This post is just a little introduction to the series, and background on some of the characters, adapted from another post form my main journal... And so it goes. I should say that you don't *have* to read this in order to follow the story, but it does give some context about where the character is from. I'll try not to give away too many important plot details, anyway.

Pieces follows Daniel's story once he has returned to Earth, and is trying to make sense of his place in the world. Also, this is set in my interpretation of the World of Darkness (3rd editions, more or less), and so it does use a lot of words and concepts that are not my intellectual property. However as White Wolf's whole purpose was to create (and sell) a system for telling stories, they can hardly object to my making use of their ideas, as long as I'm not selling them. And I'm not, no matter how convinced my mother was that I could/should have. Please enjoy the story!
